Welcome to the Annual Ithaca Chill Challenge…Dip or Dodge event!
The Ithaca Chill Challenge is an annual fundraising event for Ithaca Community Recovery. The challenge is a Polar Plunge, but with a twist.
The Twist
Each participant will have their own page for donations,
and their donors can “vote” with their $$$ to either…
“Dip ’em” and they’ll have to run into the lake for a dip
OR
let ’em “Dodge” and they’ll get to stay dry on shore!
On New Year’s Day at noon, the higher total for each participant prevails. Participants commit to doing whatever their friends, loved ones, co-workers, frenemies, siblings, and assorted other donors decide. Regardless of who winds up in the lake, all donations go to support ICR.
People who are active in the recovery community, the people who love and support them, the people who only know them - everyone will be able to come together to celebrate and to welcome in the new year.
Last year we raised over $52,000 and we hope to beat it this year!
Registration in advance is required, and fund-raising will be primarily on-line (with mail and in-person options as well). We hope that this will enable everyone to take part and help support this vital cause. If you’d like a copy of our poster to share, click Ithaca Chill Challenge Poster 2024.
- Prizes for the top five individual and top three team fundraisers
- Prizes for best costumes
- Gifts for ALL participants in 2024!!!
The money raised will be used to maintain and improve 518 West Seneca Street as a welcoming and secure home-base for our local recovery community.
